Don’t be an Airsoft Noob

You may be the new guy to the Airsoft playing field, but everyone else doesn’t have to know. “Noobs” or newbies are usually easy to spot; because it’s easy for everyone to see that they have no idea as to what they’re doing. Even if you are a newbie, you don’t want it to seem so obvious. Here are some tips that will make you seem like a pro:

  • Use weather appropriate protective gear. With the right gear you have comfortable and easy navigation. You want to make sure you have gloves, goggles, appropriate footwear such as tactical mountain boots, and if you are not a fan of pain tactical vests.
  • Vests that come with the gift of allowing you to carry extra equipment with ease like ammo are convenient and it increases your mobility. Instead of carrying around a bunch of equipment, let your vest do the work for you.
  • When you choose your first gun, choose something that is lightweight, with decent speed, and has plenty of ammo room. Especially if you choose a larger gun, try choosing a gun that does not go under 300FPS.
  • Avoid blind fire during combat. It may seem cool in the movies, but in real life this technique rarely works. For an effective shot, take the time to properly aim at your target, otherwise you are wasting bullets.
  • If you are using a location for cover make sure it is a good one. Avoid choosing a location that exposes too much of your body. You want to select a location that protects your body and actually conceals you from your opponents.
  • Communicate with your teammates. In Airsoft communication is one of the most important aspects of the game. It helps you to identify your teammates, let them know when you need assistance, and alert others of oncoming enemies.
