Taking into account the major types of guns that we offer like pistols, automatics, sniper rifles and shotgun, this type easily packs the most punch per shot fired out of all of the other types of guns. Granted, each type of airsoft gun has their own shares of strengths of weaknesses, and the shotgun is no exception to this.
The area in which the shotgun succeeds above the others is in the realm of close ranged combat. It is simply unmatched in its ability to do damage in close range with the its massive shot that not only is powerful, but it is a blast type shot that spreads across a wide area, which in the right circumstances, could hit multiple targets with a single shell. It is not uncommon to take out 3 or 4 people standing in close quarters to each other with only one shot from an airsoft shotgun. Not too shabby, to say the least.
The area where the shotgun falls short is in its long range capabilities. They are for the most part, non-existent, and when tested against the range of the other types of airsoft guns, it falls to the back of the pack. To put it simply, if you are right in the fray, the shotgun will be your best friend. In a long range situation, make sure you have a backup gun at the ready.
